Girder Bridge at Loudoun Road, London

The Great Central Railway's girder bridge over the London & North Western Railway at Loudoun Road Station. This section of the London Extension formed part of Contract No. 7 constructed by J. T. Firbank of London Bridge between 1894 and 1898. Of interest in this wintery scene are the semaphore signals on the left (indicating a clear road ahead), the brick platform sets and the houses on the ridge in the background. Note the ladder leaning against the newly constructed bridge and the tunnel beneath the hill in the back of the image.
