Dunton Bassett Tunnel, Leicestershire, circa 1897. The tunnel was built by Topham, Jones & Railton, the contractor responsible for building this section of the Line (Contract No. 3 Aylestone to Rugby). Note the piles of ballast that have yet to be packed down over the sleepers.
