Girder underbridge, Nottingham

Girder underbridge crossing a cobbled street in Nottingham, circa 1897. The photograph is an excellent example of how bridges and viaducts were needed to carry the Last Main Line across the crowded and established cities of both Nottingham and Leicester. This section of the Railway (Contract No. 1, Annesley to Leake) was built by Logan & Hemingway.
