Tunnel construction in London
Navvies working on a tunnel at 'Albion Road', London, circa 1897 (S. W. A. Newton's notes). This fascinating photograph provides a marvellous insight into tunnel and bridge construction. The London section of the Railway (Contract No. 7) was built by J. T. Firbank of London Bridge.
