Bridge construction and navvies
A group of navvies pose with bridge stanchion and winch equipment on St. Augustine Street, Leicester, circa 1897. When erected, these stanchions would support a girder bridge. Henry Lovatt of Wolverhampton was the contractor responsible for building this section of the Railway (Contract No. 2, Leake to Aylestone).
