Catesby Navvy Camp

Elevated view of what S. W. A. Newton describes as 'Hellidon Road huts', the navvy camp at Catesby in Northamptonshire. The long single-storey corrugated iron sheds would be divided into individual houses for the navvies and their families. Behind each dwelling is a lean-to structure that are probably out houses. Smoke issues from one of the chimneys on the hut. The settlement appears to be at the foot of the railway embankment which is separated from the dwellings by a wooden fence. Between the fence and the embankment runs a line of Contractor's track.
