Brick arch underbridge near Whetstone in Leicestershire

Brick arch occupation under bridge (Bridge No. 394) just to the north of Whetstone in Leicestershire. The bridge appears to be complete, as does the embankment that has track laid upon it. Like many of the occupation bridges on the London Extension, wooden bar gates were fitted across either side of the bridge arch. This bridge had been built as part of Contract No. 3 (Aylestone to Rugby) built by Topham, Jones & Railton. Note the grass already growing on the new embankment.
