Construction of a three span girder bridge, London

Construction of a three span girder bridge on Contract No. 7 (London) built by J. T. Firbank of London Bridge. The photograph was taken around 1897, and shows the tipping wagons running over the contractor's temporary rails. The large quantity of bricks and rubble in the foreground are probably the remains of a property demolished to make way for the new Line.
