Tunnel entrance at Alexandra Road, London

Contractor's tipping wagons at the 'end of tunnel under Alexandra Road', London (S. W. A. Newton's notes), circa 1897. Note the crude sleepers laid for the contractor's rails, and the centring yet to be removed from the tunnel's entrance. The London section of the Line (Contract No. 7) was built by J. T. Firbank of London Bridge.
