Brickworks near Finmere

Photograph showing the contractor's roughly laid temporary railway and brickworks near Finmere. According to S. W. A. Newton's notes, this is the 'Barton Hawthorn station site', although the Great Central never actually had a station by that name. A contactors' locomotive can be seen in the distance pushing some wagons towards the brickworks on the right. In this state, the railway looks like a scar on the landscape. Note the farm building on the left.
