Wagons on Line near Woodford, Northamptonshire

A short row of freight wagons on the Woodford South to Woodford West curve, looking towards what would become known as Woodford West Junction. The photograph was taken from the track of the Stratford upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway. The stretch of G.C.R. track is part of Contract No 5 (Woodford - Brackley) awarded to Walter Scott & Co. of Newcastle upon Tyne. A set of rails can be seen lying alongside the track and a road is shown crossing the track, controlled by a 5-bar gate, leading to Dairy Farm. The bridge in the background is known as Black Bridge, on the cart road from Woodford to the mill at West Farndon.
