Navvy Gang

A gang of eight navvies working on trimming the batten of an embankment near the village of Woodthorpe, Leicestershire. Tools in use include spades, shovels and wicker baskets. This area was part of Contract No 2 (Leake - Aylestone) awarded to Henry Lovatt of Wolverhampton.
