Royal Victoria Station Hotel, Sheffield

Exterior view of the Royal Victoria Hotel in Sheffield, Yorkshire. The photograph, taken c1894, was taken close to the junction with Victoria Station Road and Maltravers Street. The low wall in the foreground displaying adverting posters (Whitbread, Bovril, Pears, etc.) is the boundary for the Smithfield Market. Shown in the station forecourt are two horse drawn carriages. A single, unidentified man stands in front of the hotel.
