Two rakes of tipping wagons near tipping point at High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
Two sets of Great Western Railway tipping wagons situated next to a tipping point (possibly an old quarry works). This stretch of track, and the tipping point, was built as part of the Northolt Junction to High Wycombe Contract awarded to Pauling & Co. of Westminster. S. W. A. Newton described the area as the 'GC & GW Joint Railway, join of contract, High Wycombe'. The short spur would have been temporary and used to allow the wagons to tip into the heart of the 'quarry'. In the foreground, and alongside the GW & GC track, can be seen the old GWR line, previously a broad gauge line. Alongside the track, at the rear of the wagons, can be seen a small water tower.
