Manning Wardle & Co. 'K' class 0-6-0 saddletank locomotive, PENN, No. 1539 built in 1902. This contractors' locomotive is pictured with her crew and a number of navvies at work on the Great Western and Great Central Railways' joint line at Denham, Buckinghamshire, circa 1903. This section (Northolt Junction to High Wycombe) of the 'Alternative Route' was built by the contractor, Pauling & Co. See on Route Map
