Contractors' 0-6-0 saddletank locomotive, COREA.

Manning Wardle & Co. 'K' class 0-6-0 saddletank, COREA, No. 971 of 1885, pictured, according to S. W. A. Newton's notes at 'Main Road, Finmere' in Buckinghamshire. COREA was at the time employed on Contract No. 6 (Brackley to Quainton Road) built by Walter Scott & Co. between 1894 and 1899. In this right-side view of the locomotive, Main Road (?) can be seen climbing to cross the railway, and one of the bridge wing walls can be seen in the background along with the white fence that lines the road. One of the crew stands on the front bufferbeam while the other two lean on the locomotive at either end. Note the grease gun in the hand of the crew member on the left. See on Route Map
