Contractors' 0-6-0 saddletank locomotive, PRESTON.

Manning Wardle & Co. 'I' class 0-6-0 saddletank, PRESTON, No. 205 of 1866. It is pictured at Wotton in Buckinghamshire when working on the High Wycombe to Grendon Underwood section of the Great Western and Great Central Railway's joint line; the section built by Louis P. Nott between 1901 and 1905. Nott was the locomotive's fourth owner at the time, having previously worked for T. Oliver & Son among others. Note the ornate fluted safety valve cover. The two crew appear to be very proud of their steed. See on Route Map
