Contractors' 0-6-0 saddletank locomotive, H. LOVATT No. 3.

'L' class 0-6-0 saddletank locomotive, H. LOVATT No. 3, of Manning Wardle & Co. origin (No. 1542) of 1902. It is seen posed with its two crew near East Leake in Nottinghamshire when working on Henry Lovatt's Contract No. 2 (East Leake to Aylestone) sometime between 1894 and 1899. In the background to the right of the picture is a wooden built water tower, which suggests that this was probably the contractor's yard. Note the immaculate condition of the locomotive See on Route Map
