L2605. A delightful photograph taken at Rickmansworth Station of a Metropolitan Railway main line train hauled by the 4-4-4T Metropolitan H-Class locomotive No. 107. Designed by Charles Jones (Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Metropolitan from 1906-1923) as a fast passenger tank engine, the H-Class was certainly the most graceful of all Metropolitan steam locos. There were eight in the class, all of them built by Kerr, Stuart & Co. in 1920.
