L2604. A view across the line towards the platform buildings at Rickmansworth Station. On the far right is the booking office, and on the left is the waiting room. This was a stop on the Metropolitan Railway's Underground line, but it was also served by the London & North Eastern Railway, as Rickmansworth lay on that part of the existing Metropolitan network chosen by the Great Central Railway (part of the L.N.E.R.) in the 1890s for the route of its London Extension mainline. | |
