L2348. Three navvies, apparently unaware of Newton's camera, work to prepare the trackbed on a culvert just south of Wotton Underwood station, Buckinghamshire. Having left the London Extension at Grendon Underwood, this section of the line joined the Great Western & Great Central Joint Railway at Ashendon Junction. Note the large amount of materials and equipment that lie in the foreground.
