Bridge 351 - Swithland, Leicestershire

Bridge 351 - Swithland, Leicestershire

Go back to the records from the Rothley map.
L2122. Looking south at bridge 351, a girder structure of typical design complete with the familiar lattice work iron parapet. This was the first bridge after the southern section of Swithland viaduct: passing under the bridge would lead to the banks of the reservoir. Thanks to the Great Central preserved line, by the time this photograph was taken in February 1978, trains were once again passing over this relic of the London Extension.
