Bridge 364 - Birstall, Leicester

Bridge 364 - Birstall, Leicester

Go back to the records from the Thurcaston map.
L2077. Photographed looking north in May 1977, this is a fine view of bridge 364, a skew brick arch underbridge that carried the Last Main Line over Thurcaston Road, Leicester. At 27' 5' high and with a maximum span of 48' 8', this structure was an impressive example of Great Central architecture. Regrettably, the bridge was demolished in September 1979.
