L1943. View looking south at the three-arched Bridge 427 in June 1977. The two running lines ran beneath the central arch, but the bridges were designed so that extra lines could be laid through the side arches if required. The photograph shows the trackbed to be remarkably clear, although the cutting sides have got a thick covering of grass. Weeds and climbers have also taken root in the parapet walls. In 2003, the bridge is still in use carrying the Swinford Road over the deserted trackbed.
