L1928. This large skew-arched overbridge is Bridge 439, situated just to the north of Newton in Warwickshire. The huge brick bridge overshadows the old platelayers lineside hut that, in June 1977, still stood beneath it on the left of this picture. Beyond the bridge to the north was the milepost marking 120 miles to Manchester.
