The remains of Rugby Central Station

The remains of Rugby Central Station

Go back to the records from the Rugby map.
L1904. South facing view of the remains of Rugby Central Station, as seen in June 1977. The photograph, taken from the Hilmorton Road bridge shows the length of the now grass covered platform. The old 'Up' line on the left is now a footpath, while the 'Down' line appears more overgrown. The site has caught the attention of local vandals as many of the platform edging stones have been tipped onto the trackbed below. Note the old goods warehouse on the right with the original painted legend that reads 'GOODS WAREHOUSE' 'GREAT CENTRAL RAILWAY'.
