Bridge 368 - Blackbird Road, Leicester
Bridge 368 was a plate-girder double-span bridge that crossed Blackbird Road, close to the junction with Parker Drive. For many years carried a painted advertisement for 'H. A. HAMSHAW LTD.' of Parker Drive. The painted wording read 'H. A. HAMSHAW LTD. SERVICE. SALES AND PARTS DEPT. PARKER DRIVE' on one of the spans, and 'MORRIS. RILEY. MORRIS COMMERCIAL' was painted on the other. This May 1977 view shows the bridge's east side, with Blackbird Road swinging around to the left and Parker Drive going up to the right. In 2003, the road layout is very different and the bridge has long gone. Only the lower half of the northern abutment (on the right) can still be seen. See on Route Map
