B1 class 4-6-0, 61272 at Nottingham Victoria with an Ian Allen Special to Marylebone.
On 24th April 1957, Ian Allen Publishing ran a 'Trains Illustrated' special from Paddington to Doncaster, returning over the London Extension to Marylebone. The locomotives used were A4 60029 - WOODCOCK and two Thompson B1 class 4-6-0's - this one being 61272. It is seen at Nottingham Victoria in the late evening before heading off to Leicester. Note the headboard on the locomotive's smokebox. See on Route Map
