Quorn & Woodhouse Station, Leicestershire

Taken from the Forest Road girder overbridge (bridge 342), this is the entrance to the Great Central station at Quorn & Woodhouse. After passing through these gates, passengers would descend a covered staircase before emerging on to the station's single 'island' platform. A small room was built within the bridge's wide central brick pier, and fumes rising from its fire place would have escaped from this prominent chimney stack. See on Route Map
