Quorn & Woodhouse Station, Leicestershire

This deserted platform at Quorn & Woodhouse could be considered to be a haunting reminder of a once proud Railway that has since been abandoned to the mercy of the elements. However, the words 'Main Line Steam Trust Ltd' chalked on the board, proclaim the beginnings of what is now the Great Central Railway preserved line, an ambitious but successful project that brought an eight mile stretch of the London Extension back from extinction. Once again, passengers can stand on this platform and experience the age of steam. See on Route Map
