Contractor's railway and tipping wagon, Aylestone

'Contractor's branch to Midland Railway's Burton Branch, Aylestone', Leicester (S.W.A. Newton's notes). To bring materials, equipment and machinery to the construction areas, it was necessary for the contractors to use the existing railway network that would, eventually, be competing with the Great Central for traffic. This section of the Line was built by Henry Lovatt of Wolverhampton. See on Route Map
