Hand bill advertising a football match excursion to London
Great Central Railway hand bill advertising Dean & Dawson's one day excursion to London, on the occasion of Leicester Fosse versus Woolwich Arsenal, September 7th 1901. From the outset, it was vital for the Great Central to compete with the established railways, and to carry passengers who were accustomed to travelling along the existing routes. Such early advertisements were part of the Great Central's vigorous campaign to attract new customers.
