Steam crane working at Leicester

Navvies and a steam crane at work on Contract No. 2, Leake to Aylestone built by Henry Lovatt of Wolverhampton. Beyond is the Leicester viaduct. The crane's cab is not an original feature, but an improvised shelter of wood and corrugated metal built by the contractor or the navvies themselves. See on Route Map
