Manning Wardle & Co. 'M' class 0-6-0 saddletank, PENARTH, No. 840 of 1882, pictured near Ashby Magna in Leicestershire. PENARTH was working on Contract No. 3 (Aylestone to Rugby) being constructed by Topham, Jones & Railton between 1894 and 1899. This photograph shows two crew members posing on the footplate and the locomotive is coupled to a box van of some sort. See on Route Map
