The former Great Central Railway generator house on Jarvis Street, Leicester

The former Great Central Railway generator house on Jarvis Street, Leicester

Go back to the records from the Leicester North map.
L3310. This building is the former Great Central Railway generator house on Jarvis Street in Leicester. The building stood opposite the viaduct on which Leicester Central Station was built, and presumably this facility provided the station with power. Unlike so much of the old London Extension, this lesser known building is actually still standing, and was photographed on 21st October 2003.
