L3303. This photograph, looking south-east, shows the plate girder bridge carrying Ickenham Road over the Great Western & Great Central Joint line, close to the site of Ickenham and Ruislip Station. Construction work appears to be complete and the permanent way has been laid, ballasted and tamped. However, the running surfaces of the rails on the right-hand line show no signs of wear, suggesting that the railway is not yet open. Beyond the bridge are the platforms and footbridge belonging to Ickenham and Ruislip Station (now West Ruislip Station). | |
