Weekday Cross in Nottingham

Weekday Cross in Nottingham

Go back to the records from the West Bridgford map.
L3256. Trains heading south from Nottingham Victoria would immediately plunge into a tunnel upon leaving the station, emerging a few moments later at Weekday Cross Junction. This was where the Great Central parted company with the Great Northern Railway whose line veered off towards Grantham. This photograph of Weekday Cross was taken in September 2002 and shows just how much nature has taken over in the last thirty years. Hidden just behind the trees is the tunnel mouth that led to Victoria station.
