Hydraulic buffer stops at Leicester North Station

Hydraulic buffer stops at Leicester North Station

Go back to the records from the Thurcaston map.
L3232. These hydraulic buffer stops make up one of two pairs that have been installed at Leicester North station on the preserved Great Central Railway. When in use, the white buffer ends protrude from the hydraulic cylinders by several feet, and can allegedly stop a train moving at speed. These buffer stops are an original piece of great central Railway history as they were originally part of Marylebone Station in London.
