Jarvis Street in Leicester, as seen in July 2002

Jarvis Street in Leicester, as seen in July 2002

Go back to the records from the Leicester North map.
L3219. Much of the old Great Central viaduct in the Jarvis Street/Blackfriars Street area of Leicester has survived, as can be seen in this south facing view of Jarvis Street. All of the viaduct arches are now occupied by auto repair centres of one sort or another. The bridge to the left of the photograph is All Saints Road, while the building with the pointed roof on the right is the former Leicester Central generating house.
