Bridge 375 at Bede Island in Leicester.

Bridge 375 at Bede Island in Leicester.

Go back to the records from the Leicester North map.
L3197. Bridge 375 was one of three girder bridges that spanned the old River Soar in Leicester, all being parallel with one another. It was located at the southern end of Leicester South Goods Yard and carried the Great Central's main line. The goods yard itself was located behind the photographer in this July 2002 image, while the bridge in the background is bridge 378 that carries Upperton Road. The footpath is part of the Great Central Way that links Leicester and Aylestone via the old GCR trackbed.
