L3030. Built by T. Oliver & Son as part of Contract No.4 (Rugby to Woodford), this handsome three arch occupation overbridge (478) carried a path over the London Extension just east of Nethercote, Warwickshire. A girder span is visible looking north along the line. Note the soot mark on the central arch above the right hand track: bridges were normally one of the first features of the line to be completed, and the smoke from contractor's locomotives together with the early freight and passenger services has already been enough to discolour the brickwork.
