L2831. During the repeated expeditions that S. W. A. Newton made to record the construction of the Last Main Line, he regularly ventured into the rural communities that existed close to the route. These two children were photographed at Portway Farm, Twyford, on the day before Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in June 1897.
