Pumping engine and attendant near Brackley viaduct

L2813. This structure, apparently little more than a simple wooden shed, actually houses the pumping engine that provided the contractor's locomotives with water during the construction of Brackley viaduct. The navvy who is posing for Newton's camera is the machine's attendant.
