L2793. Taken at the Great Central's high embankment in Old Basford, this is an interesting picture of the brick arch underbridge that carried the London Extension across Valley Road, and the double arch culvert that spanned Day brook. A Midland Railway wagon, doubtless employed by the contractor to bring materials to and from the construction site, sits on the trackbed above the bridge.
