L2773. Built by Logan & Hemingway as part of Contract No.1 (Annesley to Leake), this girder occupation underbridge near Newstead lay one mile and 75 chains (3.12 km) from the point at which the London Extension began. The man standing by the parapet provides a welcome sense of scale to a structure that would otherwise appear far less substantial.
