L2769. Two saddle tank locomotives safely under cover in the engine sheds at the contractor's depot near Willoughby, Warwickshire. The picture is evidence of the appalling tracks that these fine machines were asked to work on. Given these conditions, and worse, it is perhaps remarkable that accidents and derailments were not more common.
