North Harrow Station, London

North Harrow Station, London

Go back to the records from the Harrow map.
L2591. Photographed looking south along Station Road towards Imperial Drive, this is the entrance to North Harrow Station on the Underground's Metropolitan Line. Since 1899, this had also been a stop on the Metropolitan & Great Central Joint Line, as the latter's new London Extension had chosen part of the existing Metropolitan network to be their original route into the capital. Fourteen years before this picture was taken, the Great Central had been absorbed into the London & North Eastern Railway. Even so, the station's tiled frontage still bears the name Great Central.
