L2268. These navvies are working at an abutment of a skew arch bridge in Leicester. The machine at the centre of the picture is a mortar mill. Built by Henry Lovatt & Co. of Wolverhampton, this section of the Railway (Contract No.2) ran from East Leake to Aylestone.
