L2170. 0-6-0 saddletank locomotive LITTLETON No.5 (works number 2018), seen here taking on water at the yard north of Loughborough Central Station. This engine was built by Manning Wardle of Leeds in 1922 for use at Littleton Colliery, Staffordshire. For several years up to the end of 1977, it was the unlikely mainstay of the Main Line Steam Trust's passenger services.
