Gradient post near Loughborough, Leicestershire

Gradient post near Loughborough, Leicestershire

Go back to the records from the Loughborough South map.
L2160. This gradient post was photographed close to the site of bridge 335, a small girder structure that was just 6' 9' high and had a span of only 10'. Interestingly, by the time this picture was taken (February 1978), the bridge had disappeared. With a relatively even gradient of just 1 in 300, this was clearly one of many fast sections on the London Extension.
